A rare pair of studio pieces by David Barak, a silversmith known for his distinctive combination of ornate cast silver and handblown art glass. Both pieces are signed and hallmarked 925.
Each flute has a handblown glass cup with a heavily textured, almost volcanic surface in deep blues, greens and gold, no two exactly alike. The sterling silver stems are cast with botanical detail, one with a grapevine and trailing tendrils, the other with leaves and grape clusters. The bases are flat discs with additional decorative detail.
20cm tall, 7cm wide. Substantial and beautifully made.
Sold as a pair. Excellent condition.
