Vintage Sommerso Art Glass Bowl, Amber and Blue Hand Blown, Murano Style, 1960s-70s

A striking piece of hand blown art glass using the sommerso technique, layering amber, teal and cobalt blue into a single form. The colours shift and interact as the light moves through the glass, reading completely differently from above than from the side.
The form is organic and sculptural, a three-lobed twisted shape with real weight and presence. From above the amber dominates. From the side the deep blue emerges along the base and edges, giving the piece an almost oceanic quality.
16cm wide, 6cm tall. Solid and heavy for its size.
No maker's mark. Attributed as Murano style based on the sommerso layering technique, form, and quality of the glass.
