A matching set of vintage Japanese black lacquer boxes decorated with gilt bird and floral motifs.
Each domed lid features finely detailed gold decoration. One box depicts birds perched among branches and flowers, the other a stylised floral spray. The surfaces have a deep, glossy black finish that contrasts beautifully with the warm gold detailing.
The larger box measures 10 cm in diameter and approximately 7.5 cm high. The smaller box is proportionally scaled and designed as a companion piece.
Both retain their original interiors and sit neatly within their bases. The gilt Greek key border detail around the rim adds a classic decorative element.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age. No major losses to the decoration observed.
